How to Pwn your iPhone 3G!

Well What can I say?

Last thursday I kinda owned myself :D. My girlfriends father told me that he could take me, my GF and our two friends to a boat ride (he has this cool fast boat :P). Ofcourse we were excited and took the offer. So we set 'sail' in Päijänne lake and started looking for a beach, so we could land there and go swimming. Well we kept looking until we found this rocky place which was really beautiful. We landed there and started climbing up the huge rock. When we were up there my friend asked me "where's the iphone, take a picture of us and put it on facebook". Well then I headed back to the boat and took the iphone out of a secure box. I climbed up the rock again and took some awesome pictures. Well then we thought we could start jumping off the boat and start swimming. Well ofcourse I had my swimming shorts on and everyone dared me to come swimming (I'm not really a swimming kinda person). Then I descended from the boat and started swimming, my friend suddenly yell "WTF man, why is the cigarettes floating on the water" then it struck me: OH SHIT MY IPHONE!! I ascended to the boat and looked at my iphone, it was soaking wet, right then I knew that it broke and said goodbyes to it :/.

What happened next?

When I got back to home I started looking if I had any insurance on that phone, well Sonera (the operator which sells iPhones in finland) has a 'cell insurance' that you can buy, it costs 4-7€ per month. Well I was like "woah this is awesome", because if they have an insurance, they will offer it and there is no reason I would've disagreed to take that insurance. Then I read a bit more about that insurance, it said that it will cover any water damage, that boosted my confidence even more, but then the next line on that page was like a big fucking kick right on the nuts. It said "you can get this insurance on every phone EXCEPT the iPhone".

Is there anything I can do?

Well after that I finally got some good news: Home insurance will cover phones, but you have to buy some "own fault" thing, that'll cost 100-150€, well ofcourse that is better than paying the frigging 650-700€ for a new iPhone, but still. I went to Expert (it's a shop where I bought my iPhone) and we checked what I need to do to get that insurance money. We send it to their repair guys who will estimate if it is still repairable or not, if it's not, my insurance company will send me the money and I can do whatever I want with it. If it is repairable (doubtful) they will repair it and send it back to me.

Light at the end of the tunnel!

The iPhone 3GS is coming to finland in few weeks (it isn't here yet for some weird reason) and that means I'm getting FULL money from my iPhone (I'm not REALLY sure if I get full money, but I think I will), so I will get that 700€ I payed for it (or something like that). The awesome thing here is that when the iPhone 3GS comes, Sonera will NOT sell the old iPhone 3G, so the 3GS will cost the exact same price the old iPhone 3G costed when they sold it. So when I get my money, I will wait a few days, so the 3GS will come to market, then I will buy it. So basically I just change my 3G to 3GS for 100€ :D. That is awesome! And all of this happened by accident.

So, cu laterzzz I will go and hope I get my money soon :P

Uniwar tournament going! And other news

PHEEEWW!!!

Woah I've had soooo much to do lately, so I'm going to keep this short.
I finally got my Uniwar (www.uniwar.com) tournament going on. We have 24 players and now I've had to email everyone. We're also having some problems with nicknames and whatever :D. Weeell, I think everyone will go a bit smoother when this tournament really kicks off. Check out my fansite www.u-war.net

My Comp

I've even had some problems with my computer, I mean it has been slow like a slug. Sometimes when I'm watching youtube vids, it lags in the middle of them, and this comp is brand new. Blah I need to check out my registry and stuff. BTW check out my review on the "registry easy", that program is SWEEET.

iPhone

iPhone has worked perfectly for the past few days, and I'm even amazed of that. I was expecting there to be some bugs on the 3.0 OS, but I haven't seen any yet. Weeelll yeah, I think I'm going to stop now and go check out my emails again (everyone is flooding it atm :D). CU!

PS: Check out my other blog (http://raitzermoney.blogspot.com) I'm postin on that after this too.

My first impressions on iPhone OS 3.0

What do I think of the OS 3.0

The little that I have tested the new operating system, I can say that it is pretty awesome! I haven't even get to test all the new things it brings, but atleast I can say one really good thing and one really bad thing about it. Good thing is the landscape mode on texting, I have waited that for soooo long. The bad thing is that apperently there is a bit problems with apps, when developers tries to update their apps, they get some unexpected bugs. We also got some new characters on finnish keyboard, like ä and ö, before we had to press and hold the 'a' key to get those.

The Frustration

When I started downloading this patch everything went like planned, but when the actual patching started, something unexpected happened. I don't know if it was because everyone else was updating their iPhone aswell, but for some reason iTunes told me that it can't update my iPhone. Well I just rebooted my phone and thought it was just some kind of a bug, but instead of everything going right, I was welcomed with yet another error message. It said something in the lines of "your phone is still updating" and I couldn't access the menus. Well I wouldn't have really minded searching google for a answer, but we were in the middle of planning a midsummer party and were supposed to leave the next day, so I didn't have that much time to waste. I just let my phone lay there for an hour and thought that I just had to survive the
weekend without it, but after that hour I tried again and it worked perfectly. Well that pretty much saved my weekend :).

The Conclusion

There really is no features in 3.0 that I actually dislike, but there are a lot that I think should have been A LOT earlier, for example MMS and landscape keyboard. There are some new features that I REALLY like and one of those is the one, when you hold your finger over text, you
can copy/paste. It makes writing and surfing easier.
So here's my thoughts on the new OS, There are some features that IMO should be added, but I will come back to that later.

To read more about the new features, check out Apple's own website

Registry Easy Review.

Read more or buy the product at their website click here!

What's the buzz about?

Registry easy is a program that will search your system registry and hard drive for bugs and errors, and it's made by Registryeasy.com (original, right? :D). These bugs and errors are something you really aren't aware of, they're hiding in your computer and making it lag and all that bad stuff. Registry Fix says that it will dig up those bugs and errors, and fix them, therefore making your computer faster and nicer, well in theory.

Is it REALLY worth it?

The program itself isn't anything Spectacular, I mean yeah, it gets the job done, you will get your .dll errors fixed and system32 (those are a pain in the ass btw). I've had my computer for like, umm, almost 6 months, I've been keeping a GOOD care of it, and when I scanned, I found over 300 errors. I was like woah, that's a lot of crap right there. I must admit that i had some problems with msn messenger with this computer, sometimes it just wouldn't work correctly, it wasn't sending messages, but now, yeah it works right.

I really don't know the magic behind this product, because I really don't care about products like these and I'm not an expert on this field, but I've tested it, and I'm relatively happy, I mean it wasn't really expensive, $27 for a single computer, I can live with that.
If you aren't sure if you should buy it, they have a free scan on their website click here

Pros

-Cheap for a good product
-Gets the job done
-Fast
-Nice Looking
-Easy to use
-They have really good customer support

Cons

-Their website isn't the prettiest

Conclusion:

As you can see from the pro/con list, this is in my opinion a really good product. It is something you should really be aware of. If you have some 3 year old computers lying around (or you are using one), buy the product for them, I mean it will make it so much faster. It even saves you the time of formatting your PC (if you really don't want to format).

Heed my advice, check it out!

Belkin Micro Grip for iPhone 3G

IPhone App Secrets - MyPhoneRiches - New - Great Conversions.

Make money with your iPhone

Oh I just LOOOOOOOVE this product!

The Belkin Micro Grip (http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=456589) is currently easily my favorite case for iPhone 3G. It's made of somekind of a fabric, but those black lines which makes the awesome pattern, they are actually rubber. That is good because if the case itself gets scratched, the fabric won't get ripped. But because the case is made of fabric and not, let's say, hard plastic or silicone, it makes your iPhone very vulnerable if you drop it. The case won't protect your phone from impact, but it will protect it from scratches (and the case makes it look so AWESOME!). Also because how the case is made, it is really long lasting, you won't see any scratches or anything on your case for a long time.

As you can see from the picture, the Belking Micro Grip is a slide-in case. When made from fabric, slide-in cases tend to be a bit stiff when bought. I had so much trouble trying to get my phone in the case, that I almost threw it away. But when you've used it for a week or so, it will "mold" to your phone. When I first put the case on, I even had to mold it a bit myself, to get all the cut-outs to right places. I actually had a problem with it at first, because the volume buttons aren't exposed, but under rubber. Everytime I pressed volume up button it got stuck, and I had to lift the case a bit from the corner to get the button unstuck. All of this will go away after you have used it a bit.

You also get a screenshield (which I've already thrown away, because I use Zagg InvisibleShield on my iPhone), which only protects the front area that is cut out, so it doesn't apply to the whole front side of the phone. And you also get a microfiber cloth. I really fell in love with that cloth, but I accidentally lost it somehow and I couldn't find it, so I went and bought a similar one (which cost me 5€). This microfiber cloth is sooo much better than the one that came with the iPhone.

I have really enjoyed using this case, and as you can see, the nicest thing isn't that it's protective, but it look so cool. I use this every time I go to a bar or a party. This case actually cost me only 8€, which is the cheapest case I've ever bought, and this is the best case also!

Pros:
- It lasts forever
- Protect your phone from scratching
- It's so beautiful
- Easy to put your phone in it (not at first)

Cons:
- Won't protect your phone if you drop it
- Hard to put your phone in it (at first)
- Some of the cut-outs are weird.

Overall score: 9/10

iTunes, iPhone and my computer!

GRAAAHHH!! I HATE THEM!

Sorry that the first real post here is a rant, but I have to get this out of my system!!!

I'm hosting a Uniwar (which is a game for iPhone and iPod touch) tournament on my Uniwar fansite (www.U-War.net) and the registration for that tournament was supposed to end yesterday, but OF COURSE my iPhone let me down. It just wouldn't work, I mean I couldn't start any downloaded applications. So I started googling what has happened and found a reason: when I downloaded the new version of iTunes, it sometimes makes all of your downloaded apps non-certified or something that my iPhone can't start them up anymore. So I found how to make things work again, I was supposed to sync my iPhone with iTunes and then do some other stuff, but after that I noticed that the applications won't still work. Well after like 1½ hours I tried to delete some of my applications and re-download them, I was so releaved to see that now they were working again, but I have like 10 pages of applications on my phone and I have to delete all of them? THANK YOU!!!

That wasn't even my only problem, for some weird reason all of a sudden I couldn't update my website, so I just couldn't tell anyone that the tournament was postponed, well I got that figured out and now I'm back on my tracks and the tournament will start a week from now.

Whoah, that felt good :P. Well I hope you liked my rant, tomorrow I will post a review of a iPhone case called Belkin Micro Grip (http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=456589).

I'm pretty sure this week will be almost nothing but reviews on different stuff, but please, check this blog out daily ;)!!
